September is our kick-off month for three blog themes to encourage, embolden, and inspire you, and some sparkle not to miss at Disneyland before the end of their 60th Anniversary Diamond Days celebration.
Late August Note:
As a gemologist, I’m always on the lookout for something beautiful to see. Pictured above is some sparkle not to miss at Disneyland before the 60th anniversary is over on September 5, 2016. Make sure to stop by The Disney Gallery right as you enter Disneyland to view this spectacular castle and some other gorgeous gems with Swarovski crystals. There are also fascinating paintings of some favorite fantasy tales and even a bank vault with the evil Queen and her locked casket.
Life 101: Living well and intentionally
In our intentional living section, a foundation to any kind of resilience, we’ll be chatting about using life’s twists and turns to make you stronger. Whether overcoming bad thoughts or fighting off bullies, we all need a boost now and then. Plus I’ll have highlights from two great middle grade and young adult writer’s conferences, ACFW and SCBWI.
A Beautiful Life: Exploring creativity and beauty
Another part of being resilient is letting beauty and fun back into your lifestyle. I hope this section will inspire your own ideas for getting out as a family and exploring more. My kids have been on the lookout for fun ideas at Legoland in California, The Air Force Museum in Ohio, and even a visit to Noah’s Ark in Kentucky. As a gem specialist, I also get you behind-the-scenes every month with gorgeous gems. In September, we’ll visit Dallas’ wonderful jeweler Richard Eiseman Jewels in Northpark Mall. It’s also where I used to work as a gemologist! Can’t wait to show you the gorgeous gems and bring some sparkle to your day.
Life Stories: Stories of resilience, inspiring interviews, and book reviews.
In September, I’ve got wonderful in-person interviews lined up with Shannon Messenger, author of the hit middle grade series Keeper of the Lost Cities and highlights from her new young adult series. Her whimsical and brave characters are so inspirational and wonderful writing will keep you turning pages. I’m also featuring Sara Ella with her personal story of resilience and my review of her release called Unblemished, coming out in October, 2016. Finally, get ready to be inspired to call out your creative side and give yourself permission to rise above the mundane in life with Life Creative by Wendy Speake and Kelli Stuart. I’ll have an in-person interview to encourage your creative side with Wendy.
Hope you’ll join the newsletter to get these items straight to your email, or come back here for more soon!
Thanks to everyone for making the September launch month so exciting!
